Luminaid Partnership

When we think of our most basic human needs, we often think of food, water and shelter.  But during a 2010 mission trip to Haiti, college students Anna Stork and Andrea Sreshta were asked to design a product to assist with post-earthquake relief efforts.  They considered the dangerous conditions at night in tent cities and turned their attention to another critical need:  LIGHT.

This past summer, we were watching Shark Tank and we saw the episode that aired the incredible invention of that very product:  LUMINAID.  The light source is a small solar powered lantern that recharges in the sun during the day and then provides 8-10 hours of lights during the evening.

We immediately thought of our friends in Rwanda who don't have access to electricity.  Every day, year round, the sun sets at 6pm and the village becomes very dark.  Candles are the only source of light but are very expensive and burn quickly so most homes do not use them.

So we contacted Luminaid to see if we could partner with them and bring this much needed source of light to Rwanda.   We were thrilled to hear from Luminaid that they wanted to help us BRING LIGHT half way across the world.

We are beyond excited about All Day FORE Africa and Luminaid teaming up to light up Kibeho!  You can't even imagine the wonder and joy when we arrived in Kibeho with solar lanterns for each family.

We are so grateful to Luminaid for this partnership and invite you to consider joining us in making this a reality for the people of Kibeho.

May God bless you for your generosity.
